Mad few weeks...

Afternoon to you...just a quick one - but I thought I'd update you on all the goings on!

So the past few weeks have been a little bit mental - obviously a good mental. Aswell as working through various projects, I've had the release of a new t-shirt 'She Still Has It' // The release of a new Screenprint 'THE KING IS DEAD. LONG LIVE THE KING' // and the launch of the 'Art of Front' exhibition. Heres some pics of the print I produced for the show, aswell as the Van's I customised....

The No.1 Bear & The Art of Front

So If you follow my moves regularly...then stop - I'll call the police. Nayyy, of course I mean my interweb movements, well If you do you'll know that the grey 'Bear No.1' T-Shurryyt is now available! I'm beyond happy with this one - the feel of the t-shirt, the placement, and the detail of the finished artwork...

So I was going to leave this a little bit later in life to tell you about...but I realised it's only 2 weeks away & I know how people like to plan ahead. This is a short exhibition that will be running from 21st-25th of February, at The Black Heart in Camden - Organised by Front Magazine, & sponsored by Vans. It's with some big hitters in the Illustration/Graphic Artist 'world'...I was very tempted to say 'game' - but we all know I wouldn't of been able to pull it off.

Check here - www.theartoffront.com - to see all the other artists involved, dates, times, directions...

In other news, I'll have a new screenprint available in the next 7-10 days. Keep an eye out, as it's a limited edition of 50. Also contemplating making a batch of BearHug logo T-Shirts, which will be priced around £10-12 - let me know If you like the design & would be interested ordering...

Cheers, Luke

The video...

So I made a last minute decision to film myself drawing, it's not the greatest process video out there - but you get the idea behind how i construct each of my drawings. It's sped up, because If it wasn't...you'd miss your next meal. Hopefully in the distant future, I'll make an even fancier, more thought filled version - not something that resembles the Blair Witch Project...

Obviously this is just an 25 minute sketch, using letraset promarkers...but like I said you get the idea of how it all works!

Anyways stick with it, even it's just for the music! (Beastie Boys).

Also look out for the new 'Bear No.1' T-Shirt that will be available from Feb 1st!......and the new logo T will be available shortly after.

Anyways, all the best for the week - keep it touch & let me know what you think of video!

A week on - Competition Time.

So it's a week on from the website re-launch and it's carried on from where I left off...cracking first week. Everyone's taken to the new 'Steve' T-Shirt like a rat to the sewer. Mr Buscemi seems to have the same effect globally, as each t-shirt sold seems to have stretched to the far corners of the world...well a few have anyways. As if I haven't drilled it into you enough times, do remember that the mentioned T is a definite limited edition of 50 & once sold will never return...that is until you go on holiday to Taiwan & come across a classier replica!

Also, If you'd like to win one & your one of the very few in the world that uses facebook - CLICK HERE -  for a chance to win one. For the cool kids who use Tumblr - CLICK HERE - for another chance to win!

In other news - this bad boy is getting printed sharpish, and no your eyes have not deceived you...it's a grey t-shirt...unless your colour blind...then yes your eyes have actually deceived you -----------

My spidey sense tell me this one is going to be 'pop-u-lar', like the only kid who brought a football to school 'pop-u-lar'. So If you'd like to put your name down to reserve one, contact me by smoke signals...If that doesn't work - email me.

This is a pic by my good pal Andrew Sandercock taken of him & his only other pal wearing the 2 classic BearHug T's. He's a quality fella, a true gent & takes some amazing photos - get him added up here - TUMBLR & FLICKR

I get alot of pics sent over of people wearing the t-shirts, so keep sending them & I'll add them to the site with links to your various social good time hotspots.

All the best.

TheBearHug.com Re-Launch!

Howdy & welcome back to newly improved BearHug website! The site will still be under construction as i go, tweaking & changing little things that I won't hve seen - I'm looking to build up the stock & look to add some artist collaborations over the next few months. Making the new site seemed like the inevitable next step, I'm really excited how the idea of the t-shirts has started to build into it's own identity. By now starting to focus on making the BearHug a label, it starts to give the idea alot more scope & freedom - I can start to slightly separate certain area's of my artwork, but still keep a strong connection between the two.

I'm still not even 6 months into this 'project' & I'm already pushing a fancy new site. I think 2012 will be a big year for where to take this idea further, but at the moment I just want to keep to original idea of making good quality, accessible, original pieces.

Keep checking back here on the blog for everything to do with me (Luke Dixon), I'll let you know about exhibitions, print releases, new work, t-shirt idea's, discounts....any whether I decide to finally give birth & star in teen mom.

This is how I feel for getting the new site sorted...I used the same picture for when I graduated from uni...and If I ever decide to become a professional boxer, this will be my pose >>

Anyways, get in touch via the contact box on the right hand side, and I'll get in touch as quick as possible! As long as you don't ask me for Obama's pager number...I'll reply.

tata for now.
